Rangers 3-0 Clyde
The league leaders registered a comfortable victory over The Bully Wee this afternoon, in an IRN-BRU Third Division match played in front of a large crowd at Ibrox.
Jim Duffy went with the same starting line-up that defeated East Stirling in the club’s last match, with Stef McCluskey and John Neill returning to the bench.
The opening stages of the game featured few incidents at either end of the park, but it was The Gers who took the lead after 21 minutes. Lee Wallace found space behind the Clyde defence and prodded a shot underneath Jamie Barclay and into the corner of the net.
The hosts registered a second goal before half-time, when David Templeton curled home a fine shot from the edge of the box.
The second half saw Rangers continue to dominate possession but it took until the 76th minute until a third goal arrived, which ended any doubt about the match’s outcome. Dean Shiels was the man who scored, as he turned in the box and fired a shot into the bottom corner of the goal.
The Bully Wee’s best attempt on goal came in the closing stages, as Kevin Watt’s (pictured) shot was pushed away by Neil Alexander.
