PREVIEW: Clyde v Rangers

Clyde host IRN-BRU Third Division leaders Rangers at Broadwood tomorrow, in the first meeting of the two clubs since September 2005.

The match, which is being broadcast live on Sky Sports, kicks-off at the unfamiliar time of 12.45pm.

Jim Duffy reported to the official website that he will have a depleted squad to choose from tomorrow. David Marsh and Steven Masterton have been ruled out by injury, with Iain Gray suspended after being shown a red card at Berwick last week.

“It is a big day for the club,” Jim said. “Rangers have internationalists, whereas we mostly have players just starting out in the game. However, it’s a great opportunity for the guys to shine and it’s important that they do not become overawed and enjoy the experience.

“Only a couple of the players here have played in front of the cameras before so it is another test of character for them.

“Results haven’t gone our way recently but, on the whole, I don’t think we have been playing that badly. In the Third Division you really have to look at each match by itself; there is not a huge difference between the teams, with the exception of tomorrow’s visitors of course.

“It is a special day, but no matter the size of the task in hand and the gulf in experience we can match Rangers commitment and that is what I’m looking for.”

Don’t forget that the clocks go back at 2am tonight!
