Mouth Cancer Action

Clyde FC is pleased to offer its continued support to Mouth Cancer Action, an awareness campaign by the British Dental Health Foundation.

Dr David MacPherson, club director & dentist and owner of Whitemoss Dental Practice, first approached the Foundation with the idea of The Bully Wee supporting the campaign in May 2011. It was agreed to feature the blue logo used by the Foundation on the club’s home kit throughout the season, with a supporting feature in the club programme during November.

Chief Executive of the Foundation, Dr Nigel Carter OBE said:

“It was a great honour to have Clyde Football Club sponsoring Mouth Cancer Action throughout 2011 and also throughout the 2012 campaign. Having the backing of such an organisation can spread awareness of mouth cancer to thousands of people at once is invaluable exposure, particularly in Scotland.

“It’s well documented that Scots suffer worst with mouth cancer than any other part of the UK, so it is fantastic to see such a positive step in raising awareness of the disease. Having Clyde FC’s support got the message out there. We are working with a number of organisations in Scotland to continue spreading the Foundation’s message during 2012, and I would like to thank Dr MacPherson for making this possible.”
