Match Switched to Alloa

Following repeated assertions from officers of North Lanarkshire Leisure that the pitch would be ready in time for our first league match of the season to be played at Broadwood, the club has been preparing to play at home on Saturday 18th August and planned for the pitch to be inspected on Monday 13th August. An inspection carried out by the Scottish Football League on Monday found that the pitch was not at the stage of completion expected and that some doubt existed as to whether it would be completed on time.

Based on the information available to the SFL the decision was taken to transfer our match with Peterhead to Recreation Park. The SFL have confirmed that this arrangement currently applies for the first match only and more information will be released when possible.

Everyone associated with the club is bitterly disappointed at having been let down in this way after the assurances received.

The first home game of the season is an important fixture for many reasons, additionally the club hopes that supporters will turn out in numbers to minimise the negative financial impact of this situation.
