Welcome Support

Following Friday’s SFL Special General Meeting, and yesterday’s statements by the SFA and SPL, there now appears to be some clarity emerging on the Newco situation.

The club believes that its stance on the issue has demonstrated the value of supporter owned clubs’ governance and transparency.

As the saga developed during recent weeks, which were extremely challenging times for all clubs, Clyde FC was inundated with messages of support; both directly and through social media. These were a powerful reminder of the strength of feeling of the Scottish public towards the issue and the vast majority of them were read or monitored by club officials. It wasn’t possible to respond to everything individually, but the club would like to take this opportunity to publicly offer thanks to everyone that communicated with us.

At certain times, the traffic to the club’s official website was anything up to 20 times greater than the normal level.

The club is also somewhat surprised by, but extremely grateful for, the increased ownership applications, season ticket sales, requests for sponsorship and pledges of new support for The Bully Wee for the 2012-13 season. Ways that you can contribute to Clyde are listed here.

Thankfully, the football action is almost ready to begin and Clyde FC looks forward to a potentially exciting new season across Scotland’s four leagues.
