Injury Latest
With no action for The Bully Wee today due to the weather, Jim Duffy spoke to www.clydefc.co.uk for an injury update.
Despite one bit of good news, unfortunately it seems that the workload of physio Iain McKinlay is continuing to grow:-
“On the positive front, Gavin Brown played for 45 minutes in a bounce game on Tuesday night and is nearer a return,” Jim said. “It will have been an encouragement to him that he featured and knows that he is on the way back, but he is short of general and, particularly, match fitness.
“He has been out for nearly three months and that is a long time in part-time football. He is not yet ready for the first team.
“Declan Gallagher will be out longer than we first hoped and is still a few weeks away at least.
“In the last few weeks We have tried to have some bounce games. The young boys on the fringes of things need games to give them a platform to push for a place. However, games can present problems too and Tuesday was an example of that.
“We sustained four injuries; Jason Marr and Dale Fulton are hopefully relatively minor injuries but Jack Sloss experienced a recurrence of problems with shin splints. More worryingly, I’m awaiting an update of Daniel Fitzpatrick’s condition who turned his knee awkwardly and was in considerable pain on the night.”
