Erskine Hospital
On Saturday prior to the Annan Athletic game there will be a charitable collection for the Erskine Hospital. Local man Peter O’Donnell approached Clyde FC in the summer and the club was happy to support this initiative during Remembrance Weekend.
The collection will be undertaken by 6-8 soldiers, aka “The Monkland Veterans”, and is part of their fundraising events in the Lanarkshire area for military charities which has included Help for Heroes, Combat Stress and the Erskine Hospital.
The Erskine Hospital fundraising manager Susan Bradley commented, “As young men and women, every day, put their lives on the line for their country, every penny we receive ensures our sterling work continue. The charity relies almost entirely on support from individuals and organisations to fund the unsurpassed ongoing care The Erskine Family offers to veterans both young and old from conflicts past and present.
“As long as there is war in this world there will be a need for Erskine and we ask that you our loyal supporters continue to help us to care for those who have and are sacrificing so much. Our thanks go to Peter for organising this activity and for Clyde FC and their supporters for backing it.”
