PREVIEW: Four Miss Out

Clyde boss Jim Duffy was as pragmatic as ever as he informed the website of the latest team news for this evening’s clash with Arbroath:-

“It’s certainly a blow to lose players but it also gives me a chance to see some others play. Ross McMillan and Marc McCusker have been carrying injuries for a while and, to their credit, have been strapped up and receiving painkillers prior to playing for a while now but there’s only so long you can do that. Ross had to go off on Saturday with his knee injury and Marc won’t be fit for tonight either.”

Jamie McCluskey and Kevin Finlayson will also miss out and Duffy explained their absence: “Jamie took a knock to his ankle in the last ten minutes on Saturday and Kevin has had a virus since the weekend so it does give others an opportunity. The way injuries have happened, I’ve hardly seen Alan Lithgow play but he will start tonight. The match will also see the return of Gavin Brown and Graham Girvan to the squad.

On the game itself, Jim’s view had not changed from Saturday: “The match suited Arbroath at the weekend as the big pitch and the openness of the game played to their strengths. We will have to think about our approach and ensure that we can compete with them.”
