Stranraer 3-1 Clyde

Clyde’s second match with Stranraer in the space of four days ended with a win for the Stair Park side, leaving honours even in an IRN-BRU Third Division double-header.

Before the journey, the Bully Wee’s injury list stretched to eight probable starters with Ryan MacBeth, Charlie Miller and Marc McCusker joining Bryn Halliwell, Ross McMillan, Alan Lithgow, Paul McMullan and Willie Sawyers on the sidelines.

That meant that Ricky Waddell, Nicki Paterson and Danny Thomson were all added to the Clyde team.

After a fairly evenly contested first half, the Blues managed to take the lead just before half-time through Armand One. The big striker was on hand to take advantage as JC Hutchison failed to hold a shot on goal, finishing from close range.

However, Clyde fought back and found an equaliser shortly after the break. John Stewart scored with a volley following a corner.

Once again the match looked like it could go either way but the home side got a crucial second goal with 66 minutes on the clock. A well worked counter-attacked resulted in Craig Malcolm blasting the ball into the net.

The Bully Wee battled to get back on level terms again but One wrapped up the three points in the closing stages, with a spectacular goal from long-range.
