PREVIEW: Jim Still Searching
The big catch up begins at Broadwood tomorrow night, with a re-arranged IRN-BRU Third Division match against Berwick Rangers.
Jim Duffy spoke to www.clydefc.co.uk ahead of the game and confirmed that his search to add to the squad is continuing at pace:-
“I’ve been on the phone trying to add to the squad and, as I said at the weekend, I’m generally being a pest to other managers as well as calling in some favours. I’m hopeful but nothing is guaranteed.
“The players gave me 100% on Saturday. Sure, mistakes were made but the necessary desire was there which was very pleasing. Hopefully we can build on that against Berwick.”
The Bully Wee will be going into that match minus influential defender Alan Lithgow and it’s yet to be confirmed whether or not Charlie Miller will be able to make his debut. Jim continued:-
“Gladly Alan’s ankle has not shown a fracture and his condition is improving, but there remains severe bruising and swelling so we will just have to monitor it and see how quickly he recovers. As for a return date we will have a better idea when the swelling comes down.
“We are down to the bare bones and we are still waiting to see if Charlie is eligible to play, but whoever is selected will be doing their utmost to get three points.”
