Jim Duffy Appointed

Clyde FC is pleased to announce the appointment of Jim Duffy as First Team Manager.

Jim Duffy has managed at the highest level in Scotland – most notably when he steered Dundee to the Scottish Cup Final in 2003 – and also gained an excellent reputation as a coach while working in England with Chelsea, Portsmouth and Norwich.

Jim’s last position was as manager of Brechin City, a post which he left in May 2010 having steered the Angus side to the First Division Play-Offs on two consecutive seasons.

Director of Football Neil Watt commented, “We are delighted to have someone of the experience of Jim Duffy. This is an appointment until the end of season and Jim’s knowledge will be critical for this heavy period of games over the remaining months of the season.”

On his appointment Jim said, “I am delighted to accept the offer to become manager of Clyde FC. The club has played a long and distinguished part within the history of Scottish football.

“Like many clubs, Clyde have had some turbulent times in recent seasons, so we will need everyone to work extremely hard to try to first and foremost gain a level of respectability. Only once this is achieved can we start to look to a brighter future. I look forward to the challenge ahead and can’t wait to get started.”
