Thanks From Glencryan School

At last Saturday’s match against East Stirling at Broadwood Stadium, Glencryan School was presented with a cheque for £600 by supporters that took part in the recent sponsored walk.

The event, which saw fans make the 12-mile trek from Shawfield to Broadwood in September, raised funds for both the Bully Wee and the local school, which caters for pupils with special educational needs.

Glencryan head teacher, Angela Moore (pictured in pink coat) contacted organiser Gordon Sydney to express her gratitude:-

“Thank you for your very generous donation of £600.00.  Please thank everyone who donated to your sponsored walk and of course yourself and the others who did the walking!

“We will use the money to help pay for the running of our school mini bus. Due to our pupils learning needs, we need to make learning as real and active as possible therefore being able to go out to visit places and practice what we learn is really important. We could not do this without our bus. Your generous donation will mean we can continue our work.

“I enjoyed my visit to Broadwood on Saturday. I am sure things will get better and I hope Clyde will do well.”
