Pedal Power
The official website was pleased to hear about a fantastic charity event being carried out by Des Hughes and his family, who are all Clyde fans.
In a few weeks, they will be embarking upon Hadrian’s Cycle 2010 in order to raise funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Society Scotland. The aim is to cycle the route of Hadrian’s Wall from Bowness-on-Solway to South Shields.
The entire trip is 100 miles long but the Hughes’s hope to complete the task in just two days.
Des explained some background to the venture to www.clydefc.co.uk:-
“My sons and I will be doing the cycle and all three of us are Bully Wee season ticket holders. My wife, who suffers from MS, can also be seen at Broadwood on occasion.
“The majority of the money we make is being passed on to help sufferers of the condition in the locality of Cumbernauld. We originally planned the cycle for the beginning of July this year, but had to postpone it due to bad weather. We are now planning on carrying out the cycle during the last weekend in September.
“With so many charities in need of help at the moment, we are finding it hard to gain sponsorship and would therefore be delighted if any fellow Clyde fans are able to contribute.”
