Clyde 0-2 Annan Athletic

The Bully Wee’s disappointing home form continued this afternoon, as Annan left Broadwood with three points.

Stuart Millar made changes to the starting line-up, with Connor Stevenson and Stuart Mills (left) making starts.

The match started badly for Clyde, however, with Bryan Gilfillan getting a goal for the visitors after just six minutes. The midfielder’s shot from the edge of the box caught out JC Hutchison at the near post and squeezed into the net.

There was further bad news to follow for Clyde, as Adam Strachan was forced to leave the field after complaining about feeling unwell. The rest of the half saw the Bully Wee press towards the away goal, but struggle to create many chances.

The second period continued in a similar pattern, with Clyde enjoying most of the possession and territory but finding a stubborn Annan outfit very difficult to break down.

The best chance of the match fell to substitute Bryan Dingwall, but his shot from close range went over the bar. It was to be a key moment, as moments later a rare Galabankies counter-attack brought a second goal. Bryan Felvus pounced after Murray Henderson gave the ball away and he smashed the ball into the net from six yards.

It seemed unlikely that the Bully Wee would be able to get back into the match at that stage and unfortunately it proved to be the case, as the Dumfries & Galloway side held firm to secure the win.
