Clyde 1-2 Cowdenbeath
There was more frustration for Clyde today, as Cowdenbeath left Broadwood with the three points despite the Bully Wee being on top for long spells of the match.
After a slightly shaky start, Clyde took control of the first half but couldn’t find a goal.
Kris Doolan had an early chance but couldn’t get enough power on his shot after managing to get control of a high ball. Further chances followed as Adam Strachan did brilliantly to work his way into the box, but couldn’t get his shot past away ‘keeper Hay and John Stewart fired the rebound wide.
Aleks Gramovics also came close with a low shot before the Blue Brazil grabbed a sucker punch on the stroke of half-time. Wardlaw managed to turn Willie Kinniburgh and his deflected shot found a way past Callum Reidford into the bottom corner.
The Bully Wee struggled to find the same intensity after the break and Cowdenbeath made it two, with Dempster being a bit fortunate to find his saved shot bounce back off him and into the empty net.
It was then an uphill task for John McCormack’s men, but Dmitrijs Borisovs provided some hope by notching his first goal for the club shortly after coming on as a sub. Clyde threw men forward in search of an equaliser but unfortunately it didn’t come, confirming another disappointing day overall in the battle to avoid the drop.
