Brechin City 3-1 Clyde
Clyde suffered another Second Division defeat today, but held a half-time lead at Brechin’s Glebe Park.
With Callum Reidford suspended, youngster Jordan Allan came into goals and he was joined in the team by Marvyn Wilson as the Bully Wee changed shape.
Chances were few and far between in the early stages of the match, with Clyde having the better of the play despite finding it hard to open the Brechin defence. The breakthrough came on 39 minutes though, when Aleks Gramovics coolly finished following good work by Wilson and Strachan.
It had been a quiet half for Allan but, in injury time before the break, he could only look on as a shot was cleared off the line after a scramble in the away box.
The home team stepped up the pace after half-time and immediately started putting Clyde under pressure. Allan produced a fine block before a shot came back off his bar, but an equaliser looked likely to arrive.
It did after 68 minutes when McAllister knocked in a rebounded shot and the big forward made it 2-1 from the penalty spot soon afterwards. The award led to Neil McGowan being sent off for a professional foul, with both the foul and the location being contested by the Clyde players.
As the Bully Wee tried to get back into the match, Willie McLachlan could only put a shot over the bar before King killed off any hope with a tidy finish on the break.
