Clyde 1-3 East Fife

Clyde slumped to another home defeat this afternoon, as East Fife took a deserved three points.

The Bully Wee suffered an early setback when sloppy play led to Cargill bursting through and setting up McManus to open the scoring.

There was little offered in return by Clyde, as the visitors looked more likely to increase their lead. Callum Reidford had to look sharp to prevent the scoreline doubling.

The second half saw Clyde get a break, as sub Howarth was fouled in the box and Willie Sawyers confidently slotted home the penalty to level the scores.

As it looked as though John Brown’s men may have a chance to go on and try to win the game, Robert Halliday was left badly exposed as Cargill was again the provider for McManus to restore the lead at 1-2.

Further mistakes in Clyde’s play led to Bobby Linn creating space for himself and placing a shot into the bottom corner to wrap up the win for the Fifers and finish off a miserable day for their hosts.
