Brechin City 2-2 Clyde

Clyde and Brechin shared the spoils at Glebe Park today, in a lively match played on a heavy pitch.

Jordan White made his debut and Marvyn Wilson returned to the side as the Bully Wee enjoyed the better of the first half play.

Willie Sawyers was unlucky to see his shot from a tight angle come back off the post. He was to be rewarded soon afterwards though, when he fired a superb 25-yard shot into the net.

Following half-time, the pattern of the match changed as the home side put pressure on Callum Reidford’s goal. The ‘keeper was forced into some fine saves to maintain the lead, but, at the other end, Willie McLachan’s scorching shot bounced off the woodwork.

The Hedgemen did eventually equalise on 68 minutes, when McAllister knocked in after Mark Casey had acrobatically cleared a net-bound shot off the line.

There was more anguish on the break for Clyde as Paul McLeod’s effort from the edge of the box crashed off the underside of the bar. His luck changed in the last minute though, as he pounced on sub Dave McKay’s cross to dramatically make it 1-2.

Unfortunately, Clyde’s attempt to defend the lead through injury time failed, as King pounced to drive a low shot home and earn a draw.
