Alloa Athletic 2-0 Clyde
Clyde’s inconsistent form continued today with a poor performance at Alloa, who deserved to take their first win in six matches.
The hosts were dominant in the first half and Brian Carrigan scored from close range to make it 1-0. The Bully Wee’s best chance of the opening 45 minutes probably came when a neat interchange between Willie Sawyers and trialist Bob Davidson led to the former being put through on goal, with a very dubious offside decision halting him.
Robert Halliday replaced Connor Cassidy at half-time as Clyde changed shape, which led to an improvement of sorts. Although some pressure was put on the away goal, little was created in terms of clear-cut chances and a Paul McLeod header was probably the best opportunity.
With the match coming to a close, the Wasps found space on the break and Noble wrapped up the three points, knocking in after a header had come back off Callum Reidford’s bar.
