Odunewu Joins the Squad
John Brown has moved to add to the squad by agreeing to sign Steven Odunewu on amateur terms.
The Nigerian left-sided forward was with Queen’s Park last season and has impressed the Clyde boss in training and in bounce matches recently.
Subject to paperwork, he could play on Saturday and join another new face in the team. Former Southampton and Hibs goalkeeper Andrew McNeil, 22, will feature between the sticks as a trialist in the absence of the suspended Callum Reidford. John said:-
“Andy’s played in the Premier League and at Scottish youth level so he will bring good experience for Saturday’s match. Jordan (Allan) is talented but still very young and we don’t want to over-expose him at this stage.”
Another man who could be introduced on Saturday is Marvyn Wilson. The midfielder, a Bully Wee player for the previous two seasons, returned to the camp tonight and came through Thursday training successfully.
“We’ll have a look at Marvyn’s condition in the next couple of games. Apart from his abillity, he brings experience and that’s what we’re lacking. He certainly comes into the equation for the Alloa match.”
