Coerver® Coaching Europe

Clyde FC Youth Development and School of Football recently welcomed Coerver® Coaching Europe to Broadwood Stadium for a series of coach education workshops for the club’s youth coaches.

Coerver® Coaching is the largest and most respected football education program in the world with an unmatched list of endorsements from national federations, professional clubs, star players and leading coaches. Its mission is to provide the world’s best youth soccer educational services and products at its player Camps, Schools and Coaches’ clinics and to make the benefits of Coerver® Coaching available as widely as possible through its network.

The coaches training covered theoretical and practical aspects on the Coerver® Coaching programme lead by Gordon Craig (Coerver® UK Director) and Joe Jones (Coerver® Scotland Director), with Clyde coaches receiving ideas and activities to deliver to their young players.

Clyde FC follows in the footsteps of many great clubs including AC Milan, Inter Milan, Arsenal, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, whose coaches regularly receive education from Coerver® Coaching.

Joe Jones of Coerver® Coaching commented, “We are delighted to be invited by Alan Upton and Clyde FC to deliver coach training at the club. Developing skills, confidence and creativity is key to developing young players for the future. We hope the workshops will help Clyde FC towards this aim.”

Alan added, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Joe Jones and the coaches he brought along on both evenings. I have discussed these sessions with all the coaches that attended and I am delighted to say everyone found this a very worthwhile exercise.

“I feel that not only will the coaches benefit from this type of session but our young players will also benefit. I also intend to discuss this with our Director of Football, Neil Watt, as this is something I would like to develop even further with Coerver®.

“Neil and I have also had some preliminary discussions about how we can get the best out of coaching our youth coaches and plan to have regular discussion forums with them.”

Neil commented, “Everybody knows, particularly at this time, that young players in this country need to be given the best opportunity to develop their desire to play football. Through a structured approach at Clyde we hope to provide that.”
