Clyde 1-3 Forfar Athletic

For the second week in a row, the Bully Wee were dumped out of a cup competition at the first stage, with Forfar taking a well deserved slot in the second round of the Co-operative Insurance Cup after victory at Broadwood.

Clyde did take the lead in the first half when Jay Lang’s tricky cross was crashed into his own net by Andy Tod.

Dave McKay has a chance to make it two, with debutant Callum Reidford making a fine stop at the other end before the break.

John Brown shuffled the pack at half-time but the second half was all about the away side. A fine headed goal by Ross Campbell was followed by strikes by Fotheringham and Deasley, both aided by terrible Clyde defending.

There was no answer to the 1-3 scoreline and all attention now turns to the start of the league campaign next week.
