Farewell, First Division
Tomorrow’s encounter at East End Park is the Bully Wee’s last First Division match of a nine-year stretch in the second tier of Scottish football.
Despite relegation to the Second Division already being confirmed, Dougie Bell was keen to try and keep spirits high ahead of the last match of the season:-
“It was a sickener to find out about Airdrie’s late goal last week, as I really thought we would have it all to play for tomorrow.
“I know we are relegated but it’s our last match in the First Division and we want to finish as well as possible.”
Marvyn Wilson is available again after suspension and he could take Stuart Kettlewell’s place, the team captain struggling with an injury.
The rest of the team is expected to be along similar lines to the side that performed well against Dundee. Dougie continued:-
“In terms of our performance, last week was good and we want the same again tomorrow. We know we are capable of playing like that but we haven’t done it often enough.
“The players feel they should be above Airdrie but we only have ourselves to blame for not being in that position.”
