Board Update

Bully Wee Chairman, Ian Letham, spoke to the official website following the recent Board meeting at the club: “As was stated earlier in the month the club has a number of difficult issues that it is dealing with, I can’t comment about these discussions whilst commercial and personal negotiations are in progress. As soon as we can say anything we will communicate through the website.

“We have, of course, been involved in other matters not least actively seeking to generate funds for the club. On Thursday evening, I was pleased to chair a fundraising meeting which was attended by the Football Club board, the Supporters’ Trust and the Clyde Development Consortium which discussed a number of positive ideas including one fan’s recent suggestion of Roll of Honour at the stadium. We hope we can help him bring this idea to fruition.

“One major project is that this August will see the first Clyde FC Gala Day at Broadwood. It is long overdue and is something that we wish to make an annual event at the stadium. It signals the beginning of our intention to have a far greater profile in our community. Of course such events are not new at clubs and this week we are meeting with Kilmarnock FC to learn from them to ensure that the inaugural Gala is a success.

“Ideas are not in short supply but we rely upon volunteers to progress initiatives and make it happen. We certainly can’t afford to take a break from fundraising in the summer and my thanks go to the many fans who continue to contribute to the Back the Bully Wee Fund.

“In addition to fundraising and budgetary matters, other issues were discussed at our most recent board meeting. We confirmed that our third strip will continue to have Scottish Spina Bifida Association’s logo on it as a continuation of our partnership with the charity. This is an initiative whereby we donate the sponsorship to SSBA.

“Finally, new car parking arrangements have also been agreed and details of them will be announced closer to the new season.”
