The Smelly Wellie Tele Show
As part of the fundraising drive for the Back the Bully Wee campaign, Clyde fan Chik Duncan will be doing a special performance of The Smelly Wellie Tele Show in Cumbernauld Theatre on Saturday 18 April. The show lasts about an hour, 12.30-1.30pm, so there will still be plenty of time to make your way to Broadwood for the crunch Clyde v Airdrie match at 3pm.
Tickets are £6 each or £20 for a family of four, and anyone presenting a ticket from the show will be eligible for entry to that day’s Clyde game at a discounted price. Further details about this offer to follow.
Chik reports that the show itself is a mix of poyums, storytelling and stand-up comedy, with some brilliant acting, a wee bit of shouting, and a few mouthfulls of Barr’s Irn-Bru. The Cumbernauld performance follows two hugely successful gigs at this year’s Glasgow Comedy Festival. Find out more on The Smelly Wellie Tele Show website.
UPDATE: It has just been confirmed that there will now be a special guest appearance by those friends of the Smelly Wellie Tele Show, John Alexander (and his no-name band of gypsies?) singing the two songs from their new CD.
Thanks go to Cumbernauld Theatre who will not make any profit from this event. After staff wages have been paid, all other proceeds will be divided equally between Clyde Supporters’ Trust and The Scottish Spina Bifida Association.
