Clyde 3 v 0 Airdrie United
A fantastic result for the Bully Wee at Broadwood this afternoon blew open the relegation battle.
Clyde, without the injured Pat Clarke, started well and took a deserved lead after 5 minutes. Gregory Tade was the creator with some great work in the box and Ricky Waddell tapped-in to make it 1-0.
It continued to be one-way traffic for most of the first half, but the lead wasn’t increased before half-time.
Airdrie came out strongly after the break and could have equalised, but David Hutton brilliantly saved a John Baird shot that was heading for the top-corner of the net.
That seemed to spur Clyde into action again and Kettlewell and McLaren combined to set up Ruari MacLennan (pictured), who put a fine volley past Robertson to double the score.
Soon after, the Diamonds keeper made a dreadful mistake to allow MacLennan to grab his second goal and secure the three points that makes things interesting at the bottom of the First Division.
