Winters Signs
Following confirmation that an individual, keen to see the club maintain its First Division status, would finance a deal, agreement has been reached to sign ex-Aberdeen and Dundee United forward Robbie Winters.
Winters, 34, who latterly enjoyed a successful spell in Norwegian football with SK Brann, has been using the club’s training facilities and was happy to sign until the end of May and get back playing first team football.
John Ruddy, director of football affairs commented, “It is welcome and much appreciated assistance in our battle against the drop. Relegation would have a critical effect on the financial position and future shape of the club. This backing exists solely to help us on matters on the pitch, the backer refused to give monies for any other reason.
“He believed that, as supporters address the problems off the pitch, he would assist with matters on it by strengthening the team. This will hopefully improve the financial position of the club by helping us make the play-offs or avoid relegation and in that way putting the club in a better position to meet its responsibilities.”
