Morton 2 v 0 Clyde

Defeat at Cappielow today means that, with Airdrie winning at home to Queen of the South, Clyde are now bottom of the First Division with just seven games remaining.

The home side won an extremely comfortable three points, with the Bully Wee only able to register one shot on goal in the 90 minutes.

That said, following a tame opening to the game, Morton took the lead with their first attempt on goal. Jenkins low shot from the edge of the box was touched by Hutton but still made it into the corner of the net.

At half-time John Brown brought on Tade and MacLennan for Kettlewell and Trouten but they had little chance to change things.

On 66 minutes, Hutton was booked following an incident where James Grady kicked him on the shin, with the Ton striker escaping unpunished.

Two minutes later it was game over, as referee Conroy awarded a penalty after Hutton collided with a Morton player in the box and was shown a second yellow card.

Steven Masterton converted past deputy ‘keeper Peter Cherrie and the rest of the match was a formality.
