Derby Day
Clyde travel to Maryhill tomorrow to take on old rivals Partick Thistle, looking to bounce back from Tuesday’s disappointment.
Ian McCall’s side are in good form and the Bully Wee face a tough task to end a long run of matches without a win over the Jags.
The job will certainly be no easier with Billy Gibson suspended following his red card on Tuesday. Pat Clarke is also rated as very doubtful to play, due to the ankle injury that kept him out of the Morton match.
Ricky Waddell, however, returns to the squad and could feature and Marvyn Wilson is fit for selection.
Assistant manager Dougie Bell spoke to www.clydefc.co.uk this evening:-
“We’ll miss Billy as he’s been a big player for us but we’ll just have to make the changes and get on with it. Stuart Kettlewell was struggling towards the end of Tuesday’s match but he should be in better shape now and it’s good to have Marvyn available.
“I think we’ve got to go out and have a go – we need wins now. I definitely think we’re capable of putting together two or three wins but it’s just not happened recently.
“The players enjoy playing in front of the bigger crowds and we usually take a great support to Firhill. I know that might not be the case tomorrow but I hope we still have a good turn out.
“We’ve managed to get results before when it was least expected so we’ve got to think positively about it, but there’s no doubt it will be a very hard game against a team in form.”
