Eager to Start Again

It’s a Sunday match for the Bully Wee this weekend as BBC ALBA screens its first ever live match from the IRN-BRU First Division.

Airdrie United are the hosts and the local derby element, combined with both clubs’ relegation fight, should make for a lively encounter.

Definitely out for Clyde are Greg Tade (suspended) and Stuart Kettlewell, who suffered a re-occurrence of a recent rib injury near the end of the Dundee match.

“We’ve had a mini winter break but the lads have been working extremely hard and are eager to get back into it,” John Brown said.

“It’s an important game for us as it could help us move up the table but the players are ready for it. Airdrie were unlucky to lose against Dunfermline during the week as they could have been 3-1 up at half-time. They have good movement up front and we will need to match their wide men who have been in good form.

“Airdrie will know that a win will put them within a point of us so we need to approach the game right, be focused and committed to bring home the maximum points.

“We will be without Stuart and Gregory and that is a blow as we’ve lost strength in midfield. We need to address that and get the right balance to make sure we compete for the full 90 minutes and get the victory.”
