Deal Agreed

Alan Lithgow has committed his immediate future to the club by putting pen to paper on a new deal that runs until May 2010.

Since arriving at Broadwood from Hearts at the end of last year, the defender has impressed with some fine performances and John Brown was eager to keep him in the squad.

The Bully Wee boss commented, “He is a young defender who can improve but since joining us he has done well and has been solid at the back. I look forward to seeing him progress and develop with us.”

The decision to extend his contract was taken after the club had been informed by an independent professional assessment of recent events. Following the findings of those reports, Clyde FC understands that continuing to employ Alan plays an important part, along with his family and other agencies, in the support and rehabilitation process.

Clyde FC will make no further comment on non-football matters relating to Alan.
