Clyde's commercial director David Dalziel contacted the official website to issue a message about how critical the role of supporters is to the future stability of the club:-

"We are striving to maintain First Division football with a sizable full-time squad and we are facing a budget deficit. Reduced gate receipts and loss of sponsorship are hitting us hard at a time when many other business sectors are feeling the impact of the difficult economic climate.

"As a direct result of this, various sub committees have been formed to address our shortfall with several initiatives being put into action. We simply must have the help of all Clyde fans; home and abroad. Share purchase schemes, gold club membership and advanced purchase season tickets are amongst the schemes being rolled out and more specific details on how you can back the Bully Wee will be forthcoming soon.

"One area we need your help with at the moment is to assist the commercial department in identifying participants for our 2009-10 away strip sponsorship draw. Entry costs just £1250 + VAT. If you are aware of any business contacts you have who may have the resources and interest in this excellent advertising opportunity, then don't hesitate to get in touch.

"Remember that you can help in other ways such as selling (and buying) lottery tickets or joining the Bully Wee Fund. No contribution is too small.

"The support is always the '12th man' on match days but now it is absolutely critical that the fans be part of the fundraising team so we can continue to develop the club on the pitch.
