Unchanged Squad Ready for Derby

Following fast on the heals of Saturday’s fine win over Dundee, Broadwood will host another vital First Division match tomorrow night when Airdrie United visit.

The latest weather forecasts suggest the match, which kicks-off at 7.45pm, will be in no danger, but covers have been laid on the pitch as a precaution.

The club would once again appreciate the help of any volunteers who are able to assist in taking these off, tomorrow morning at 10am for around an hour. Please make your way to Broadwood if you would like to help.

John Brown spoke to the offical website this evening: “I read all about the Dundee game and how they had created lots of chances yet I can’t remember a single save from David Hutton that was out of the ordinary. David played well and his level of performance will attract attention but he was never stretched.

“I remember at Dens, Rab Douglas was the man of the match as we dominated the second half. I’d rather play ugly and win than lose by playing nice.

“It was Willie McLaren who produced the real quality in the match. He can, at times, frustrate the life out you but from nothing on Saturday he nutmegged a defender and placed a shot past the keeper. Since he came into the side he has given us an extra dimension up front and on days like Saturday that is vital.

“The team tomorrow will be similar to Saturday, with Scott Gemmill (pictured) eligible as his suspension will kick in later. A win would put us level with Queen of the South. We’re looking forward to the match. It’s a derby game so it can be unpredictable but we want to continue our good form. If we can replicate our away form to our matches at Broadwood we can really start moving up this league and that is our aim tomorrow.”
