Ross County 3 Clyde 0
Clyde journeyed home from Dingwall tonight after another disappointing result. A number of fans had made a weekend of Clyde’s longest away trip of the season but the party mood evaporated as the Bully Wee struggled to build on last week’s gutsy win over Livingston.
It seemed that Clyde, still missing a number of first team regulars, had done enough to earn a point but Ross County fired in three late goals to gain maximum points.
Chances were at a premium all afternoon and the visitors were to rue two missed chances from Scott Gemmill and Pat Clarke as it was substitute Sean Higgins who broke the deadlock for County eight minutes from time.
A fine solo goal from fellow sub Gardyne doubled the home side’s advantage before Richie Hart struck in injury time to pile on the misery and the Bully Wee were sent home smarting from their heaviest defeat of the season.
