Clyde 2 v 0 Montrose

Goals by Dave McKay and Pat Clarke eased Clyde into Monday afternoon’s Homecoming Scottish Cup Fourth Round draw.

The Bully Wee were on top for most of the match, but the visitors held firm until the 38th minute. Alan Lithgow’s pass found McKay and he raced clear to hit a fine shot past Kelly in the Montrose goal.

Due to injury, Stuart Kettlewell was replaced by Ruari MacLennan at half-time but Clyde continued to dominate, with some last-gasp defending preventing the score from increasing.

Eventually the second goal did come, with just three minutes remaining. Gary McSwegan played in McKay who was brought down by the visiting ‘keeper, earning a penalty. Top scorer Clarke coolly slotted the ball into the net to complete a successful day’s work.
