Airdrie United 0 v 2 Clyde
A very solid performance at the Excelsior Stadium earned Clyde a valuable three points today.
The Bully Wee started the match very brightly and were given a further boost when the Diamonds’ Paul Lovering was sent off for an off the ball incident after just ten minutes.
Pat Clarke came close to scoring with a header before Ricky Waddell broke the deadlock, with a neat finish after some composed footwork.
Clarke again came close with a header, this time off the bar, but the score remained the same until the break.
Clyde continued to be well in control of the match in the second half, particularly after Ruari MacLennan doubled the lead with a powerful strike following a corner.
Sub Alan Trouten had a good run and shot before the home side’s only real chance of the match came in injury time, but was put wide of the post.
