Injury Blow for McLaren

The club has received a blow with the news that Willie McLaren has fractured his ankle.

The winger was forced to leave the field in the early stages of the Dundee match and the initial hospital opinion was that he had suffered ligament damage.

However, further tests this week have revealed the fracture. Willie will now be in plaster for two or three weeks and is not expected to return to any sort of action for at least two months.

A disappointed John Brown spoke to www.clydefc.co.uk today:-

“It’s a real blow for us considering the way that Willie has started the season. We feel for him but these things happen in football and he just has to get on with it.

“Ricky Waddell is now back and we have other options on the left so it’s a chance for others to step in and show what they can do.”
