Norfolk Tour Arranged
The club have arranged a pre-season training camp in Norfolk, England for the 11th to 16th July and will play two matches during that time.
First up for The Bully Wee is a match against Ridgeons First Division outfit Great Yarmouth Town on Saturday 12th July.
After that, the squad will travel west through Norwich to play King’s Lynn on Tuesday 15th July. The Linnets have just secured promotion to the Blue Square Conference North and will provide a tough test.
King’s Lynn’s first choice ‘keeper last season was Scott Howie (right). Scott, of course, was a big favourite amongst the Clyde support in the early 1990s and his abilities quickly earned him a big money move to Norwich City. He had announced his retirement in 2006 but was persuaded to play again and played a big part in his new club’s title win.
The tour was arranged through friends of John Brown and the Clyde boss said: “It’s a good chance for us to get away as a group and also get some early action under our belt. We’ll be using the full squad in the early pre-season matches before we move to a more settled side in the last couple of friendlies.”
As a result of the tour, the friendly against Albion Rovers has had to be cancelled.
