Higgins Deal Agreed
John Brown continued to build his squad for the new season today by securing the services of Chris Higgins. The defender will enter his fourth season at Broadwood after agreeing a new one-year contract.
The gaffer spoke to www.clydefc.co.uk after ‘Higgy’ put pen to paper this afternoon:-
“Chris wasn’t at his best when I first took over but he did great at the end of the season and certainly won me round. He’s hardworking and conscientious and I’m delighted that he’s agreed to stay.
“He is a good professional who works extra on his own to continually improve and if we can sign up a few more like him then we’ll be alright.
“When I came to the club Higgy was the only left-sided player here and the team lacked strength in depth down the left side. As well as his usual position in defence, he offers cover at left-back and with the signings of McLaren and Waddle we now have some balance on that side of the park.”
