Anniversary Match Planned
Preparations for next season are already underway behind the scenes and the club can now release an update on the work being done to fill the summer schedule.
On July 30th there will be a special occasion at Broadwood, as the 50th anniversary of the 1958 Scottish Cup Final is commemorated with a challenge match against Hibernian. Players of both Clyde and the Edinburgh club who participated in the final will be present to enjoy the evening’s events.
John Brown’s former club Rangers have also provisionally agreed to come to Broadwood. The strength of their team will be determined by their 2008/09 European commitments, but it could turn out to be a very attractive fixture for The Bully Wee.
Other friendly options are also being explored at present, with a match against an English club and a Highland tour amongst the possibilities.
In other news, the club was delighted to accept an invitation from Rutherglen Glencairn to compete against them in the official opening of New Southcroft Park, with a date to follow.
