Looking To The Future
The ongoing effort to attract young talent to Clyde is being boosted by the continued development of the West End of Glasgow School of Excellence.
The venture, strongly supported by local ASDA supermarkets, is being lead by Brian Cameron, who also works for Macdonald’s Solicitors.
Coaching courses are already underway at the brand new Knightswood Primary School. John Ruddy, Director in charge of Youth Development, said:-
“The aim of this project is to unearth players that can come into the Youth Development structure at Under-13 level next season, with a view to progressing through the ranks and eventually making their way into the Bully Wee first team.
“It carries on the excellent tradition Clyde FC has for nurturing young talent.”
The club can also reveal that efforts are being made to organise a pre-season tournament at Broadwood for the end of July.
The current thoughts are that the event will take place between four teams over a weekend, with two SPL clubs and an English Premier League team hopefully being attracted to Cumbernauld.
