Livingston 0 v 0 Clyde
Clyde and Livingston shared the spoils in a goalless draw at Almondvale this afternoon. Clyde faced Livi minus three important players.
Craig McKeown, who suffered a groin injury during the match with Partick, and Pat Clarke, who suffered an ankle knock against the Jags, missed out completely while Stevie Masterton started on the bench, not yet fully recovered from a virus that curtailed his involvement the previous weekend.
Those absentees resulted in returns to the first team for Dusan Bestvina and Marvyn Wilson as well as a start for David McGowan.
Overall a draw was probably a fair result but The Bully Wee will feel they created the better chances. Kevin Bradley hit the inside of the post with a speculative volley and Neil McGregor missed from close range in the dying seconds, which ensured that Clyde had to be content with a point.
There were some encouraging signs in the team’s performance compared to previous weeks. Against a strong wind in the first half, discipline was key to ensure that no goals were conceded.
After the break there was far more in the way of pressure on the home side’s goal, with the two near misses described above being hard to take for the travelling support.
