Landmark for Community
Since its inception in April 2006, the Clyde FC School of Football has grown rapidly and has developed into a very succesful community programme.
The number of kids taking part every week recently reached the 150 mark, in a range of boys age groups (under-8 thru under-14) and three age groups in the girls section; the Clyde FC Cosmos.
Coaching sessions take place every week night with various matches at the weekend, so it is a seven days a week operation.
The administration has also been slickened considerably and the majority of the parents now pay the monthly subscription via Standing Order.
The subscription remains excellent value at just £25 and kids benefit from a very full programme, being put through their paces by well qualified coaches and having great fun along the way.
Director in charge of the programme, John Woods, said, “I’m delighted with the way the Clyde FC School of Football has developed in less than two years, essentially from a standing start. It is very much the flagship of the club’s community initiatives as we seek to integrate more and more within the communities we serve.”
