Brown Battles Bully Woe

Clyde boss John Brown does not have his problems to seek as he prepares the squad for Saturday’s trip to Stirling: “It looks like we are going to have to re-jig it a bit tomorrow. Injuries, a viral infection and suspensions to three players will limit our options. It’s not ideal, especially after we finished strongly against Morton. But regardless of who is chosen we will need to battle and compete for every ball.”

John was pleased with the second half performance against Morton: “I was delighted with the response and work-rate. It was hard to get out of our half in the first half and to be honest I thought it was a bonus to be only one down at the break, as I thought Morton would have created more against us.”

Boss Brown concentrated on a few players: “As the game went on Pat Clarke got stronger and Stevie Masterton was a threat and not only at set pieces as he sprayed the ball about well with some excellent passing. Billy Gibson also put in a good shift. He will always give you a 100% and looks more comfortable on the right side of defence.”

John concluded, “One thing is certain though is that we need to start the game properly, keep a tight ship and get creating those chances. Jorg and Gary have come in today and their experience will be vital as we attempt to climb up the league.”
