New Appointment
The club has moved to improve its long-term strategy to increasing local support for The Bully Wee by appointing David Dishon as Project Manager.
David is a very enthusiastic and creative individual who will be working with the club on a voluntary basis to build a lasting project targeted specifically at raising crowds at Broadwood. His work will compliment the excellent job being done by the Community Football department but be focussed solely on an issue that is, of course, of high importance to Clyde FC.
A qualified accountant for over ten years, David brings a wealth of experience in and out of football.
His first role in the game was Financial Analyst and Investor Relations Manager for Newcastle United, where he helped transform the club and bring a £55m stadium redevelopment to St.James Park. Following that, he worked with Kenny Dalglish, Ruud Gullit and Sir Bobby Robson on the football side of the club’s finances and also spent some time coaching under Alan Irvine at the Youth Academy.
David then returned to Scotland and joined Rangers, where, in 2001, he organised a highly successful ‘Auld Old Firm’ event that raised over £100k for the Cash For Kids charity. John Brown was a close associate during this venture. On the subject of charity work, he is a strong supporter of Football Aid and is delighted to claim that he’s scored a hat-trick at Hampden!
Following his time at Ibrox, he then moved to work for David Murray and Martin Bain (now Chief Executive of Rangers) as Financial Controller for Carnegie Sports which again led to more experience in the sporting industry, such as The Open Championship, Six Nations and the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester.
His most recent football role was at his own team Hibs, on a voluntarily basis with some commercial initiatives, before spending some time in high street retail. Currently, David is with the Royal Bank of Scotland.

“It will no doubt be asked why a Hibs fan would want to do this on a voluntary basis! I have a long-term vision for the development of my career within Scottish football. To do this, I need to raise my profile in Scotland once again and that is where Clyde come in. If I can get involved for the long-term and play a pivotal role in turning things around, I will be one step closer to my own dream.
“I am a very focussed and enthusiastic individual and I am excited to be involved with Clyde FC. I hope that my ideas and determination to make a difference will benefit the club and local community for many years to come.”
David is currently working up his thoughts and will soon submit his initial plans to the Board.
