Clyde v Partick Thistle

Gary Arbuckle is now the only enforced absentee from the Clyde squad, as John Brown prepares for his first derby match in charge of the club.

Marvyn Wilson will also be excluded from tomorrow’s pool as he tries to regain match sharpness following his illness. However, Christian Smith and Chris Higgins are both back in contention for a place.

The Bully Wee Manager spoke to www.clydefc.co.uk ahead of the Broadwood clash:-

“It’s a local derby so everyone is up for it. Partick are in a similar position to ourselves, needing points to move away from the bottom, so we’re expecting a tough game.

“I’m sure both Jimmy and Billy Gibson are keen to be involved! They are in the squad but they know that they are Clyde players now and the most important thing about tomorrow is getting the three points.

“We’ve prepared the players for it and we must start finding a level of consistency that allows us to compete for the 90 minutes of a match. We’ve got to be strong and if the conditions are similar to last week then we have to learn from it.

“We’ve got a busy period coming up but that’s good for the team. We’ll push them to the limits in the coming weeks and the right result tomorrow would be a big boost to get us going.”
