Clyde 2 V 3 Hamilton

The Bully Wee suffered a painful defeat at a rain-soaked Broadwood today, after racing into a two goal lead during a first period where the scoreline could have been far more.

Gary Arbuckle coolly took advantage of a defensive mix up to give Clyde the lead after just 3 minutes and it wasn’t long before it was 2-0, thanks to a terrific free-kick by Dougie Imrie. Clyde continued to dominate and press for more goals but just before half-time the league leaders were handed a lifeline when Offiong finished.

As the weather and pitch deteriorated in the second half, Hamilton scored two more through Mensing and Offiong again. Michael McGowan had the chance to salvage a point in the closing seconds, but his poor penalty was saved by Bryn Halliwell.

During the second half Dougie Bell was sent to the stand for the second week running, after an incident with Mark Gilhaney for which the winger received a yellow card.
