Club Statement: Craig McKeown

Despite having been offered improved terms and an extended contract, Craig McKeown has signed a pre-contract deal with Dundee.

Whilst it is disappointing that a player of the calibre of Craig will be moving on in the summer, the club wants to stress that it has no wish to release him early.

Dundee FC have enquired as to whether Craig can move immediately and have been advised that Craig is an important part of our team and will be expected to fulfil his contractual obligations to Clyde for the remainder of the season.

Colin Hendry made further comment: “It is disappointing news. We have been in close negotiations with Craig since October and now is the time where the players make decisions.

“I knew of Craig’s choice prior to the Thistle game and I respect that, but Craig remains an important member of the squad and I fully expect him to continue to meet his obligations to us before joining Dundee in the summer.”
