Stirling 0 v 2 Clyde

Clyde jumped up to 7th in the First Division after a solid win at Forthbank today. Colin Hendry made three changes to the team that lost to Livingston last week through both choice and necessity, with Marvyn Wilson, Michael McGowan and Gary Arbuckle coming back.

The latter gave the Bully Wee the lead after 38 minutes. He did well to beat Chris Aitken in midfield and later finished the move by converting a terrific Joe Cardle cross at the back post (below). Neil McGregor made it two on the stroke of half-time with a header from a Dougie Imrie corner.

The second half was a patchy affair with only a few chances at both ends but Arbuckle came close to extending Clyde’s lead on three occasions.

The full-time whistle signalled Clyde’s first away win of the season and also Stirling’s first home defeat.
