Colin’s Challenge

Clyde boss Colin Hendry spoke to www.clydefc.co.uk on the eve of the Challenge Cup 2nd Round match against Dunfermline: “It’s another big match and one that will test us greatly. We can’t match the depth of squad that The Pars have so it will be tough, but the players will want to build on the positives from Saturday.

“We have a full squad to choose from with the exception of Craig McKeown and even then we got a boost with the news that Craig has started doing some light running again. His return is a wee while away yet, but it gives everyone a boost to see him back.”

Though the transfer deadline has passed the search for new faces has not yet stopped. He continued: “We are looking at a few players in training at the moment and we will see how that goes but my focus is the match on Wednesday night. I hope the fans see a performance that reflects the spirit within the camp.”

Colin added, “I also greatly appreciate the tremendous backing the supporters gave the team on Saturday. I have never felt anything but their 100% support. I feel we let the fans down against Raith and Thistle but that apart we have acquitted ourselves well but have been unfortunate on a number of occasions.

“I know, however, that we need to start getting results and the match tomorrow night gives us the opportunity to bounce back quickly from Saturday’s disappointment. So we can’t wait for the game to start.”
